Suara.com – The Fifth President of the Republic of Indonesia who is also the General Chair of the PDI Perjuangan DPP, Megawati Soekarnoputri was presented with two books by Pope Francis when he met at the Vatican.

Megawati received the book after holding a meeting with Pope Francis at the Apostolic or Papal Palace in the Vatican, Monday (18/12/2023) afternoon local time.
Initially, Megawati and the group of judges for the 2024 Zayed Award for Human Fraternity or Zayed Award for Human Fraternity held a dialogue with Pope Francis.

After the meeting, PDIP DPP Chair Puan Maharani said that Megawati and Pope Francis had a lot of dialogue about tolerance and climate change for approximately 15 minutes.

“We were given books. “Two books by Pope Francis, in which the Pope is related to global warming,” said Puan.
Puan said that the book by Pope Francis was extraordinary. The reason is, he commented that the book does not directly teach the values of Pancasila.
However, it contains a direct implementation of the values contained in Pancasila.
“(The Pope’s book) does not directly state Pancasila but directly implements what is in Pancasila as it seems to be stated in the book,” said Puan.
“Earlier the Pope gave directly to two books he wrote,” he continued.
Puan said that Pope Francis really hopes that his book can be distributed and taught to many people.
“Yes, the book was also signed directly by Pope Francis,” he explained.
