YOGYAKARTA – Ary Sudarsono provides motivation through his experience in the world of basketball and education, with the hope that Indonesia’s young generation will become better Indonesian basketball human characters through sports and cultural media. He conveyed this during a visit to Budi Utama School, which was attended by elementary, middle and high school students, parent representatives and teachers.
This is part of a series of PEAK Roadshow activities with Ary Sudarsono in Yogyakarta. “We are grateful for the presence of PEAK Region Indonesia with Indonesian basketball legend Ary Sudarsono coming to our school to provide encouragement and advice. In accordance with the vision of the Budi Utama school which teaches character to each of its students in an optimal and integrated manner, so that they become human beings of ultimate virtue,” said Fendy, representative of Budi Utama school in his speech, Monday (18/12/2023).
“Because character is one of the main foundations for forming a good human personality. Hopefully this motivation will have a positive impact as well as broaden insight for Budi Utama students,” he added.
Support for spreading goodness to Indonesia’s young generation through sports is also a concern for this international sports shoe and apparel manufacturer. Hendarto Tjai as CEO of PEAK Indonesia welcomed this activity and hopes that Yogyakarta can be a pioneer in starting elementary and middle school leagues that teach Indonesian basketball people who are superior and have good character in all fields.
“PEAK Sport Region Indonesia plans to support elementary and middle school basketball competitions which will be initiated by Rachmad Kasim Martadji and Ary Sudarsono in Yogyakarta City. The most important thing is not the competition or league. But we want to educate young basketball players by teaching noble values and character that will “will be their provision for the future. I am sure that after this other stakeholders will emerge who want to be involved in raising the student league in the city of Yogyakarta,” said Hendarto Tjai.
“In the near future we will roll out a concept for student leagues, elementary school, middle school and university students. I will start from the city of Yogyakarta because this city has historical value, apart from being the capital of the country in its time, Yogyakarta is also a student city,” explained Ary Sudarsono .
“We want to teach and shape the character of the millennial generation and Gen Z with good personalities. Our big idea is Save Our Nation Through Basketball” and our motto is Basketball My Game, School Number One. “Our first movement in early 2024 will be to gather a gathering of parents and teachers in Yogyakarta and hopefully it can be held at Budi Utama School,” added Ary Sudarsono.
