Suara.com – The murder case committed by Muhyani (58), a resident of Serang City, suddenly went viral and became the public spotlight, especially on social media.
The reason is that Muhyani was thought to only be defending himself when he was about to be hacked by a goat thief carrying a sharp weapon.
However, the police said that the designation of Muhyani as a suspect was in accordance with applicable procedures.
“At the investigation and investigation stage, we have carried out steps according to existing SOPs,” said Serang City Police Chief, Commissioner Sofwan Hermanto, Wednesday (13/12/2023).
Sofwan also said that there was no element of self-defense in the suspect’s actions because before the stabbing occurred, Muhyani should have asked local residents for help.
With this action, investigators named Muhyani as a suspect in the abuse that caused the victim to die in accordance with Article 351 paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code.
The police have also examined eight witnesses, including criminal experts, to uncover this case.
Currently, Muhyani, who was detained at the Class IIB Detention Center in Serang, has had his detention suspended. However, the legal process continues and prosecutors are currently compiling an indictment file.
Profile Muhyani
Netizens are widely discussing Muhyani’s name because he only carried out self-defense when he was about to be hacked by a goat thief using a machete.
Muhyani is just a goat keeper who comes from Teritih Village, Walantaka District, Serang City.
His wife, Rosehah (49) explained that their household life is classified as a simple family.
So with this case, it makes conditions even more difficult, especially when you have to report to the Serang City Police.
Since Muhyani’s case escalated in July 2023, he has had to report every Monday and Thursday for three months.
The pressing conditions required Rosehah to look for fish in the pond so that it could be used as supplies to go to the Serang City Police Headquarters.
Apart from their own costs, they also have to pay for the person who takes them to the police station in the city.
Muhyani himself is a casual worker who does whatever he can to meet his family’s needs. Not only as a goat guard, sometimes he also works as a construction worker, sometimes fishing, and various other menial jobs.
He has four children, all of whom are married. However, their four children also live with limited limitations.
Currently, Rosehah said that Muhyani has been sick for two years because he has lung disease, which makes him worried about the costs of traveling to the Serang District Court (PN).
