Suara.com – PSIS Semarang’s appeal regarding sanctions from the PSSI Disciplinary Committee (Komdis) regarding the ban on holding home matches with spectators until the end of the BRI Liga 1 season was partially granted by the PSSI Appeals Committee. Now, the club nicknamed Laskar Mahesa Jenar can hold matches with spectators.
Even so, there are still sanctions for PSIS Semarang. They are not allowed to fill the north stands of the stadium with spectators until the end of BRI Liga 1 this season. Apart from that, a fine of IDR 25 must also be paid.
“Repairing the PSSI Disciplinary Committee Decree,” wrote the PSSI Appeals Committee statement as reported on the official website, Friday (15/12/2023).
“Sanctions: closure of part of the stadium (north stands) for holding matches when hosting the 2023-2024 BRI League 1 Competition ends, effective from the nearest match; fine of IDR 25,000,000,” continued the statement.
The sanctions for PSIS Semarang were the result of supporters’ riots when they hosted PSS Sleman. There was a clash between the two groups of supporters and there were even injuries.
This is a repeat violation of the disciplinary code committed by PSIS. Therefore, Komdis was given heavy sanctions, before being reduced by the Bandung Committee.
Responding to this, Yoyok Sukawi as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PSIS expressed his gratitude for the decision from Komding PSSI.
“Thank God, today is a blessing for everyone. PSIS’s punishment can be compared and we can all meet again at Jatidiri Stadium,” said Yoyok.
“Hopefully from all this we can learn to be better in the future and PSIS has also prepared a website and special application for ticket sales that is neater and can minimize leaks,” continued the former member of the PSSI Executive Committee.
Nearby, PSIS Semarang will host Madura United in the continuation of BRI Liga 1 2023/2024. The match took place at Jatidiri Stadium, Semarang, Saturday (16/12/2023).
