JAKARTA – Indonesian billiards athlete, Kadek Ryan Daneswara, admitted that he was very excited ahead of the 2023 POBSI Student Cup Grand Final. He also dreams of becoming a professional billiards athlete.
“Getting guidance from Mr. Hary (Tanoesoedibjo) made me even more enthusiastic about training because every year there are lots of events. Lots of young people appear too, right? So hopefully they will progress further,” said Ryan.
“One, this is because of a hobby, second, I want to achieve achievement too. My dream is to become a professional billiards athlete,” he added.
Kadek Ryan Daneswara will compete with a number of Indonesian billiards athletes, one of whom is the youngest Rigel Aditia Surya, 11 years old.
Rigel is a student at SDIT Amal Mulia, Depok. Even though he was the youngest, that wasn’t the reason Rigel’s courage gave up early.
On the contrary, he is very optimistic that he can compete with other participants who are much older than him. Rigel admits that billiards is his favorite sport.
He also hopes that this billiards tournament between students can continue every year. Family support was also a big motivation for Rigel to participate in this event.
“It’s just a hobby. I’ve practiced a lot. The preparation takes a lot of hours. I want this event to be held every year. I like this sport. I’m optimistic about playing 100 percent,” said Rigel after the briefing in Jakarta, Thursday (14/12/2023).
