Suara.com – Coinciding with the commemoration of International Disability Day which was held by the Ministry of Investment/BKPM and the Indonesian Ministry of Defense with the theme: “Business Opportunities Through Partnership and Justice for Business Actors with Disabilities”, BPJS Employment has established a commitment with the Rehabilitation Center of the Indonesian Ministry of Defense – Dr. Hospital. Suyoto.
This collaboration is carried out in the context of expanding and improving the quality of services of the Work Accident Insurance (JKK) program for BPJS Employment Participants who need rehabilitation after experiencing work accidents or work-related illnesses.
This synergy is contained in a joint commitment signed by the Director of BPJS Employment Services Roswita Nilakurnia and the Head of the Ministry of Defense’s Rehabilitation Center, Dr. Daniel Lumadyo Wartoadi, Tuesday (12/12/2023).
In his remarks, the Main Secretary of the Ministry of Investment/BKPM, Ikmal Lukman, said that collaboration between the Ministry of Investment, the Ministry of Defense and BPJS Employment is expected to be able to provide a more confident future for employees or workers who experience work accidents.
He said that so far many workers have experienced work accidents and hope to be able to work again. However, in reality not everyone can return to work in the formal sector, therefore the collaboration between BPJS Employment and the Ministry of Defense Rehabilitation Center Dr. Suyoto is very important to increase workers’ productivity and self-confidence again.
In line with this, Roswita said that collaboration with Pusrehab RS Suyoto in the JKK Return to Work (RTW) program including providing entrepreneurship training for disabled workers after JKK / RTW opened up opportunities to obtain an NIB (Business Identification Number) from the Ministry of Investment / BKPM so that in the end it would empower return workers to return to work at their place of origin or work independently. This will form an ecosystem that is in line with the JKK RTW BPJS Employment program.
Because this program guarantees that workers who experience work accidents will receive benefits in the form of treatment, rehabilitation and training until they are finally able to return to work or become entrepreneurs.
“Having easy access to get NIB for workers with disabilities is proof that the state is here for all Indonesian workers. “And this will encourage disabled workers to become independent workers, to register as BPJS Employment participants so that there will be continuity of social security protection for them,” said Roswita.
According to data, as of October 2023 BPJS Employment has provided JKK RTW benefits to 1,763 participants, of which 86 percent or 1,524 participants have returned to work. This return to work ratio is the highest compared to similar social security programs in the Asian region.
“With the joint commitment that we have established with the Ministry of Defense Center for Rehab, Dr. Hospital. “This Suyoto is expected to be able to increase RTW empowerment, so that the services received by BPJS Employment participants who experience disabilities due to the risk of work accidents or work-related diseases can be more comprehensive and integrated,” said Roswita.
The extraordinary commitment provided by BPJS Employment has received recognition from the International Social Security Association (ISSA) in the form of the ISSA Certificate of Excellence in Social Security Administration for Return to Work (RTW) in 2019, as well as most recently the ISSA Guidelines on Return to Work and Reintegration which will be awarded in 2022. At the end of her statement, Roswita emphasized that BPJS Employment is always present to protect all workers in both the formal and informal sectors, including MSMEs, athletes and various other professions.
Therefore, the collaboration with the Ministry of Defense Hospital Dr. Suyoto is important for improving the quality of service for participants. “In the future, we will strive to ensure that the quality of BPJS Employment services continues to grow sustainably (sustainable growth) so that all Indonesian workers can work hard, worry-free, and have a prosperous life,” concluded Roswita.
