BERLIN – Real Madrid tactician Carlo Ancelotti believes that Jude Bellingham is superior to the legend of the Brazilian national team, Ricardo ‘Kaka’. Ancelotti, who has coached the two players, said that Bellingham was superior in terms of movement without the ball.
Bellingham is currently a goal machine for the Spanish La Liga giants nicknamed Los Blancos. Even though he plays as a midfielder, the 20 year old player has scored 16 goals and 4 assists in 18 matches in all competitions this season.
Bellingham’s brilliant performance has led to comparisons with the former veteran midfielder from Brazil, Kaka. Ancelotti said Bellingham was slightly superior to Kaka. The Italian coach acknowledged Bellingham’s prowess in finding space when moving without the ball, so he was able to score goals.
“Kaka usually kicks into the penalty box with the ball but he doesn’t have Bellingham’s ability to arrive in the penalty box without the ball. That really makes a difference,” said Ancelotti as quoted on Real Madrid’s official website, Tuesday (12/12/2023) .
“Not playing with a fixed striker gives him (Bellingham) more opportunities to get into the box with more space to shoot. It’s a different system to Kaka and more difficult for him,” he continued.
“Bellingham’s movements without the ball are very effective,” he said again.
Nevertheless, Kaka is still one of the best midfielders to have ever played in Europe. The former AC Milan and Real Madrid player recorded 133 goals and won one Champions League title during his career on the Blue Continent.
