Suara.com – Presidential candidate number 2, Prabowo Subianto, had four minutes to convey his vision and mission in the first debate of the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).
Prabowo is very passionate when talking about corruption.
Prabowo admitted that he, along with vice presidential candidate Gibran Rakabuming Raka, had great determination to eradicate corruption from its roots.
“Prabowo-Gibran, we will fix what needs to be fixed, we will uphold what needs to be upheld and we are determined to eradicate corruption from its roots!” Prabowo said.
“Eradicate corruption from its roots!” he added firmly.
Apart from that, Prabowo explained that he and Gibran placed law, human rights, improving government services, eradicating corruption, protecting all groups in society as something very important.
Therefore, these points are included in the Prabowo-Gibran vision and mission list.
He admitted that he had sworn to defend Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution since he was young.
For this reason, the former Danjen Kopassus emphasized that his party would continue to fight for the sovereignty of the people.
“I risked my life, my soul to defend legal democracy and human rights,” he said.
First Debate for the 2024 Presidential Election
The themes of the first debate for the 2024 Presidential candidates are Government, Law, Human Rights, Eradicating Corruption, Strengthening Democracy, Improving Public Services and Community Harmony.
The debate between the three presidential candidates was guided by two TVRI journalists appointed as moderators, namely Ardianto Wijaya and Valerina Daniel.
There are 6 segments and 18 questions in the presidential debate which will last for 120 minutes.
Previously, the KPU had appointed 11 panelists. Of those appointed by the KPU, 10 of them have academic backgrounds from various state universities in the country.
The following is a list of panelists in the first presidential-vice presidential debate in the 2024 presidential election:
Mada Sukmajati (Political Science Expert, Gadjah Mada University); Rudi Rohi Ahli (Political Science Expert, Nusa Cendana University); Lita Tyesta (Constitutional Law Expert at Diponegoro University), Khairul Fahmi (Legal Expert at Andalas University).
Then Agus Riewanto (Constitutional Law Expert at Sebelas Maret University); Susi Dwi Harijanti (Expert in State Law, Padjadjaran University); Bayu Dwi Anggono (Professor at Jember University); Al Makin (Professor of Religious Studies at Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University).
Next, Gun Gun Heryanto (Teacher at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah); Wawan Mas’udi (Dean of Social and Political Sciences, Gadjah Mada University); Ahmad Taufan (Chair of the National Human Rights Commission for the 2017-2022 period)
KPU Commissioner August Mellaz said that all the panelists had been in quarantine since last Sunday (10/12/2023) until the D-day of the first debate for the 2024 presidential election.
