Suara.com – Vice presidential or cawapres candidate number 2 Gibran Rakabuming Raka revealed that over the past two months he has often received massive attacks on social media. These attacks ranged from ‘sneering’ to slander.
This was expressed by Gibran at the ‘Indonesian Night Harmony Gibran Greets Christians’ at Nafiri Discipleship Church (NDC), Central Park, West Newsdelivers.com, Monday (11/12/2023) evening.
The moderator at the event initially asked Gibran whether the person concerned had ever been angry and sad about the various attacks on his personality that had been circulating on social media or social media.
“It is true that in the last month or two the attacks on social media have been massive. Sneering, ridicule, slander, and so on,” said Gibran.
The eldest son of President Joko Widodo or Jokowi also admits that he is not a perfect person. He then gave the example of one of them who slipped his tongue when he wanted to call folic acid sulfuric acid.
“I apologize straight away, yes I am not perfect,” he said.
Regarding his efforts to deal with attacks in the form of slander, Gibran admitted that he consulted a lot with his religious teachers and senior political figures.
“It’s called slander, you don’t need to respond to slander, you don’t need to reply to sarcasm. If it’s a hoax, we don’t insist on clarification or anything,” he said.
“Because the thing called clarifying hoaxes actually makes you tired. Lastly, the issue was that my diploma was fake. I clarified it by bringing my diploma. Instead of the issue being clear, it just added to it, that’s what. The point is, let’s just be patient,” he said.
Gibran’s Reporting Tone
As previously reported, Gibran said that the tone of negative reporting towards him was starting to decline.
Because of this, he asked volunteers not to be provoked by negative statements from their competitors in the 2024 presidential election.
Gibran warned against this when meeting a number of volunteer leaders supporting Prabowo-Gibran at a cafe in the Melawai area, Kebayoran Baru, South Newsdelivers.com, Monday (11/12/2023) afternoon.
“I also see that the tone of the news has also shifted, negative news is starting to decline. So we don’t need to be provoked by what our competitors have said,” said Gibran.
Rather than responding to negative attacks and slander from his competitors, Gibran then advised volunteers to focus on voicing Prabowo-Gibran’s vision and mission.
