Anders Antonsen Special Training in Malaysia Preparing to Fight Ginting and Jojo at WTF 2023
KUALA LUMPUR – Danish men’s singles, Anders Antonsen, seems very serious about preparing to appear at the 2023 BWF World Tour Finals (WTF) which will take place in Hangzhou, China, on 13-17 December 2023. The proof is, he even trained at the Malaysian National Training Center.
This was known from the photo he uploaded on his Instagram, @anders_antonsen, Friday (8/12/2023). From there he was seen practicing on the court at the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) national training center located in Kuala Lumpur.
“Early morning training again at BAM. Grateful for the opportunity to train with the Malaysian national team in KL as I prepare for the World Tour Finals. “It’s going well and I’m excited to be in action one last time in 2023,” wrote Antonsen in his photo caption.

In another upload on his Instagram story, Antonsen was seen at the training ground early in the morning to train with his colleagues in Malaysia. The sun didn’t seem to be shining yet as he prepared to start training.
Not only preparing himself in terms of technique and strategy on the field, the world number 11 player was also seen training in the gym to increase his muscle strength. He is really enthusiastic about WTF 2023 which will start next week.
WTF 2023 was indeed the moment when Antonsen returned to the final event of the year and was also the third time he qualified. The reason is, he missed last year’s edition after being plagued by injuries throughout the 2022 season so he was unable to perform optimally.
The last time Antonsen performed at WTF was in the 2020 edition. At that time, he successfully emerged as champion after defeating his compatriot, Viktor Axelsen, in the final with a score of 21-16, 5-21 and 21-17.
The 26 year old player himself qualified for WTF 2023 after appearing quite stable throughout this year. With one title at the 2023 Korea Open, he secured a ticket to Hangzhou after sitting in seventh place in the 2023 WTF qualifying standings with a collection of 78,110 points.
Very serious preparation is certainly needed because Antonsen will be up against seven other best players this year, including two Indonesian champions, Jonatan Christie and Anthony Sinisuka Ginting. Meanwhile, the other five players are Axelsen, Kodai Naraoka (Japan), Shi Yu Qi (China), Li Shi Feng (China) and Kunlavut Vitidsarn (Thailand).
