G-Dragon was banned from leaving South Korea after being caught in a suspected drug abuse case. However, now the ban has been officially lifted after the man whose real name is Kwon Ji-Yong tested negative for consuming drugs.
Reporting from Mydaily, the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency’s drug crime investigation team on November 25 lifted the travel ban on G-Dragon. This decision was also conveyed directly to G-Dragon on November 26 2023.
Meanwhile, Lee Sun Kyun, who is also involved in a suspected drug abuse case, is still prohibited from traveling outside South Korea. The reason is, until now the investigation into Lee Sun Kyun’s drug case is still continuing.
As is known, one month ago the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency Drug Investigation team issued a decision to ban G-Dragon and Lee Sun Kyun from leaving South Korea. The ruling was approved by the Korean Ministry of Justice on October 27, 2023.
After undergoing a series of examinations, G-Dragon was declared negative for consuming drugs. This is based on urine and hair sample tests. Not only that, the Big Bang member also underwent a nail sample examination and was declared negative for drugs.
G-Dragon finally decided to report the person who had spread false information regarding accusations that he was consuming drugs.
“This is lawyer Kim Soo Hyun, legal representative of Kwon Ji Yong (G-Dragon’s real name). We are currently taking legal action against those who make malicious posts including defamation, insults, sexual harassment, spreading false information, and malicious slander towards Kwon Ji Yong,” he said as quoted by Soompi.
