Brilio.net – The trend of drinking coffee seems to have become a lifestyle for some Indonesians. Of the various characteristics of coffee, there is one coffee that is unique and iconic. It’s called Joss Coffee. The uniqueness of this coffee is quite widely known by the public, even abroad. Abroad, Joss Coffee is known as The Charcoal Coffee.
This naming is appropriate, because the presentation of this coffee is quite eccentric compared to other coffees. The most distinctive feature of Kopi Joss is how it is served to customers, namely by dipping the charcoal into the coffee cup to be drunk.
Not only in Indonesia, neighboring countries such as Malaysia are also experiencing this trend. Unfortunately, the trend of adding charcoal to coffee drinks is now prohibited in Malaysia. These regulations are based on the Food Regulations 1985 and are subject to prosecution, according to the Malaysian Ministry of Health (KKM).
