Jonatan Christie and Anthony Ginting’s training is boosted ahead of the 2023 BWF World Tour Finals
HANGZHOU – Indonesian men’s singles, Jonatan Christie and Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, will increase training starting next week. This was done to better prepare ourselves ahead of the 2023 BWF World Tour Finals.
The 2023 BWF World Tour Finals will be held in Hangzhou, China, on 13-17 December 2023. Jojo – Jonathan’s nickname – and Ginting are the two Indonesian representatives in the men’s singles sector.
“To face the World Tour Finals, Ginting and Jojo will be well prepared. Starting next week their training will really increase,” said the men’s singles coach at Pelatnas PBSI Cipayung, Irwansyah, in an official statement, Sunday (26/11/2023).
“The training has to be really good. Only Jojo has a problem in his left leg near his Achilles muscle,” he continued.
Jojo himself decided to withdraw from the last BWF tournament which lasted until last weekend, China Masters 2023. This decision was taken because of the leg injury he suffered.
It is known that Jojo suffered this injury while appearing at the previous 2023 Kumamoto Masters. Irwansyah said that Jojo had received treatment from a specialist doctor and was expected to recover to appear at the 2023 BWF World Tour Finals.
“The injury has been treated by a specialist. Hopefully in the future, with rest and getting the best treatment, Jojo’s leg will be fit again,” said Irwansyah.
“He and Ginting will also focus on preparing for WTF,” he concluded.
