Jamie Foxx was sued in connection with a case of alleged sexual harassment against a woman that occurred in 2015.
The lawsuit against Jamie Foxx was filed by an unnamed woman with the New York Supreme Court on Wednesday (22/11).
In the lawsuit, the woman said that she and a friend were sitting at the table next to Foxx.
Foxx, whose real name is Eric Marlon Bishop, is sitting with Mark Birnbaum, owner of the rooftop bar Catch NYC which is said to be the scene of the crime.
The woman’s colleague then approached Foxx to take photos at around 1 am.
Not long afterward, Foxx, who allegedly started to get drunk, then allegedly started complimenting the woman.
“Wow, you have a super model body,” Jamie Foxx claimed the woman said.
The woman then said Foxx began sexually assaulting her.
An unnamed security guard was said to have witnessed the harassment incident, but then decided to leave.
Foxx was then said to have started to stop carrying out sexual harassment when the female colleague came.
The woman also filed a lawsuit and asked for compensation for pain, suffering, emotional distress, anxiety and humiliation.
However, on the other hand, Jamie Foxx denied the allegations made against him regarding allegations of sexual harassment against a woman at a restaurant in New York City in 2015.
Jamie Foxx’s representatives claim that the incident never happened.
“In 2020, this person filed a nearly identical lawsuit in Brooklyn. The case was dismissed soon after. The claims are no more viable today than they were then. We are confident they will be rejected again,” said Jamie Foxx’s representative as quoted by People in Friday (24/11).
“And once they are rejected, Foxx intends to file a lawsuit against this plaintiff and his attorneys for refiling this unwarranted lawsuit,” concluded representative Jamie Foxx.
