Suara.com – President Jokowi Widodo or Jokowi officially appointed Nawawi Pomolango as interim chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
With this decision, Firli Bahuri was officially temporarily dismissed as chairman of the anti-corruption agency.
“President Joko Widodo has signed the Presidential Decree on the Temporary Dismissal of KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri, as well as appointing Nawawi Pomolango as Temporary Chairman of the KPK,” said Presidential Special Staff Coordinator, Ari Dwipayana, in a statement quoted by Suara.com, Friday (24/11/2023).
Jokowi preferred Nawawi over the three deputy chairmen of the Corruption Eradication Commission, Alexander Marwata, Nurul Ghufron and Johanis Tanak.
“This presidential decree was signed by President Jokowi at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Newsdelivers.com on Friday evening, November 24 2023, upon arrival from a working visit from West Kalimantan,” said Ari.
Previously it was reported that Firli had officially assumed the status of a suspect in alleged corruption in the form of bribery to former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL).
Firli was named by Polda Metro Jaya as a suspect on Wednesday (22/11/2023).
He is suspected of being involved in a corruption case at the Ministry of Agriculture which is currently being handled by the KPK.
Firli’s suspect status was announced directly by Dirkrimsus Polda Metro Jaya Ade Safri Simanjuntak, after conducting a case title.
During the investigation process, they examined approximately 90 witnesses, including experts. Firli and SYL were questioned twice.
Apart from that, a series of forced efforts in the form of searches were also carried out at two houses where Firli lived, Villa Galaxy, Jaka Setia, South Bekasi, Bekasi City, West Java, and at house number 46 on Jalan Kartanegara, Kebayoran Baru, South Newsdelivers.com.
