Suara.com – The French U-17 national team managed to win Group E of the 2023 U-17 World Cup after destroying the United States (US) in the final matchday of the group phase on Saturday (18/11/2023) evening WIB.
In the match at the Newsdelivers.com International Stadium (JIS), young Les Bleus slaughtered the CONCACAF representatives with a landslide score of 3-0.
Joan Tincres was the star of France’s victory in this match. He scored a brace with goals in the 45+2′ and 83′ minutes.
Meanwhile, another goal from France was scored by Menadjou Bastien Meupiyou with three minutes remaining in normal time.
As if to complete the United States’ misery, Tyler Hall had to be sent off directly in injury time so they had to play with 10 men before the match ended.
This result made France U-17 achieve perfect points throughout the group phase with a collection of 9 points as a result of winning.
Meanwhile, the US had to settle for being runners-up with a collection of six points. Both teams have the right to qualify for the round of 16.
In another match, Burkina Faso’s duel against South Korea ended with a score of 2-1 in favor of the African representatives.
Burkina Faso opened the scoring in the 24th minute through Jack Diarra before South Korea equalized through Kim Mynug-jun (49′).
Meanwhile, Burkina Faso’s winning goal only came five minutes before normal time ended. Aboubacar Camara scored to make it 2-1.
This result does not change the fate of Burkina Faso, who together with South Korea were confirmed to be eliminated before the match even started following Mexico’s victory over New Zealand in the final match of Group F.
Burkina Faso also finished third in Group E with a collection of three points, while South Korea was in the bottom position with zero points after always losing in three matches.
