Suara.com – The Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo) presents an application called Sigmon which can be a tool for measuring internet quality in Indonesia.
Director of Control at the Directorate General of Postal and Information Technology (Ditjen PPI) of the Ministry of Communication and Information, Dany Suwardany, said that the application was presented with the hope of providing an overview of the quality of cellular network services for internet, SMS and telephone services.
“This is to see the experience of the quality of telecommunications services. So users can use the speed test feature to measure video or web services and then the results will come out,” said Dany in Newsdelivers.com, Thursday (16/11/2023).
Dany said Sigmon comes from the abbreviation of the word Signal Monitoring which literally translates into Indonesian as signal monitoring.
The application is now available in the application store for Android and iOS cellphone users.
To use Sigman, users must create a new account. Accounts can be created using a Google account or Facebook social media account. After successfully creating an account, users can immediately use Sigman’s services.
The main features located on the homepage include Speed Test, Web Test, Video Test, Multi Test, My Stat, RF Parameters and Route Test.
The network speed and quality testing feature can be seen via the Speed Test, Web Test, Video Test and Multi Test features. All test results can be viewed via the History option. Meanwhile, to monitor network quality on a daily basis, users can see it in the My Stat feature.
Features for testing technical matters such as measuring network coverage and radio frequencies can be seen in the Route Test and RF Parameter features.
The Ministry of Communication and Information plans to provide a complaint service if unsatisfactory network results are found so that later it can be followed up to improve the quality.
Currently, a similar feature is not yet available to the public and is only available for local government representatives, but later this feature may also be available to the public. (Between)
