The figure of singer Baskara Putra or better known by his stage name Indies has recently been in the public spotlight. This happened after he was accused of spreading Satanic and Illuminati beliefs.
Not only that, the accusation also arose because of the presence of a statue that was said to be a satanic symbol on the stage.

Profile of Baskara Putra or Indies
Indies are known to have the full name Daniel Baskara Putra. He is a graduate of Communication Science, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Indonesia.
This man, who was born on February 22 1994, formed a band called .Feast in 2012. The song with the title “Peradaban” was able to lift the band formed by Indies and four colleagues.
After being successful with the band, Hindia or Baskara now holds the position as brand manager of Double Deer Records.
It didn’t stop there, he and his friends founded a company with a record label and talent management called Sun Eater Coven. Hindia is also the founding father and CEO of the BagiKata website.
As if he was not satisfied with his position as vocalist for the band .Feast, Baskara Putra decided to become a soloist using the stage name Indies.
According to him, the name was inspired by the words Dutch East Indies which he had heard since he was at school. He admitted that he chose the name Indies because it was more anti-mainstream than using the name Baskara.
Indies released a solo album project in 2019 entitled Dancing with Shadows. Previously, Indies also released a song entitled No One Will Find Me which was part of the compilation album Bertamu.
Tracks from the album Dancing with Shadows include Evacuation, Mama’s Advice, Maybe We’ll Arrive Tomorrow, Lunch Time, Dehydration, What’s For, Just Enough, Whatever Happens, Washing, House to House, and Evaluation.
The song entitled Enough by Baskara Putra was chosen as the soundtrack for the film Later We Tell About Today, which was adapted from the book by Marcella FP which was released in January 2020.
In the same year, Indies was also successfully selected as the Best Alternative Male/Female Solo Artist at the 2020 Anugerah Musik Indonesia (AMI) Awards because of her song entitled Rumah to Rumah. Indies even beat colleagues such as Danilla and Monita Tahalea.
Indies accused of spreading Satanic beliefs
Several Indies concert videos have now suddenly gone viral on social media. However, the video clips that have now circulated have made netizens excited.
As uploaded by an account called @secretpieh, when singing a song entitled ‘Matahari Tenggelam’, Hindia or Baskara asked the audience to close their eyes using the cloth they had brought.
Then, the audience was asked to remove the blindfold in the middle of the song. Not only that, they were also presented with a statue which was accused of being a symbol of a heretical sect.
This moment then caused debate among netizens. Not a few netizens accused that the Indies adhered to satanic and illuminati sects because of this.
