2 Habits of Young Indonesian National Team Players that Must Be Improved According to Sandy Walsh
SURABAYA – Young Indonesian national team players are important assets for national football. However, these players have bad habits that have at least been highlighted by Sandy Walsh.
Sandy Walsh, who was born in Belgium and grew up amidst Dutch football, looks at the bad habits of young Indonesian national team players that need to be changed. He noted problems related to the players’ diet and rest time discipline.
1. Wrong Diet
In an interview on the Sport77 Official channel, Walsh highlighted the tendency of some young players to consume excessive chocolate. “When having breakfast or eating together, I peeked at their plates. I saw that several players were taking a lot of chocolate,” said Walsh.
Walsh emphasized that consuming chocolate occasionally is okay, but it should not become an excessive habit. He gave advice to the players to improve their diet, considering the extraordinary potential and talent possessed by young Indonesian players.
“There are so many talented and potential players. I’m happy to see it,” said Walsh. “There is a lot of talent. I think, in the future, our football will develop rapidly. However, these young players still need to be disciplined,” he added.
2. Poor Rest Pattern
Apart from the nutritional aspect, Walsh also pays attention to the discipline of the players’ rest time. He highlighted sleeping hours, considering that most players wake up at 05.00 in the morning to pray. “I think they have to go to bed at 21.00 or 22.00 to get eight hours of sleep,” said Walsh.
This 28 year old player emphasized that discipline in diet and rest periods is the key to maintaining the players’ physical and mental condition. Walsh’s spotlight is a voice of concern for young Indonesian national team players, who are expected to improve their performance in various upcoming competitions.
