Suara.com – The Spanish U-17 national team became the first team to qualify for the last 16 of the 2023 U-17 World Cup. This result was obtained after they beat Mali U-17 in the second match of Group B at the Manahan Stadium, Solo, Monday (13/ 11).
The only goal in Spain’s victory over Mali was scored by Juan Hernandez in the 62nd minute. The additional three points put Spain temporarily at the top of Group B with six points from two matches.
Spain also became the first team of the 24 participating countries to ensure that they qualify for the last 16 of the 2023 U-17 World Cup. Meanwhile, from other groups, England and Senegal have the potential to qualify.
England will face Iran in the second match of Group C, tonight. Meanwhile, Senegal will face Poland in the second match of Group D, this afternoon.
Furthermore, Spain will face Uzbekistan in the final match of Group B of the 2023 U-17 World Cup, Thursday (15/11). Meanwhile, Mali, who is currently in second place, will meet Canada on the same day to determine the next team from this group to qualify for the knockout phase.
If they qualify as winners of Group B, Spain will face the best third-placed team from one of Groups A, C or D.
