Suara.com – Gibran Rakabuming Raka has not yet thought about resigning from the position of Mayor of Solo. President Jokowi’s eldest son has now been officially named as a vice presidential candidate, accompanying Prabowo Subianto.
Gibran has so far chosen to take time off for his activities as vice presidential candidate. Apart from leave, activities outside working hours as mayor are also Gibran’s choices.
“For what is going on now, I usually visit places like yesterday in Palembang, Lampung, Bangka Belitung, I do this outside working hours. Saturday, Sunday, or usually I leave Friday evening,” said Gibran in Area 47 Menteng, Central Newsdelivers.com, Tuesday (14/11/2023).
Meanwhile, regarding his activities today, Gibran chose to take leave to draw candidate candidate number numbers at the General Election Commission office.
“Today specifically, I have one day off. So tomorrow I’ll still be at work. So all this time, that’s what I’ve been doing,” said Gibran.
Previously it was reported that Gibran had not confirmed whether he would take leave or resign from his position as Mayor of Surakarta while contesting the 2024 Presidential Election.
“Yes, I’ll let you know later,” said Gibran in Solo, Central Java.
Regarding the political safari activities he carried out as a vice presidential candidate, he said that so far it had not interfered with his activities as regional head.
“So far I only go on Saturdays and Sundays or like now. This should be time off to pick up a number, but I went (to Newsdelivers.com) only in the afternoon,” he said.
However, he promised to follow up on leave issues and other needs.
“What is clear is that I am still focused on my work in Solo,” he said.
