Suara.com – The Acting Regent of Sorong, Yan Piet Mosso, is one of five officials involved in the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) sting operation (OTT).
Head of the KPK News Section, Ali Fikri, confirmed to journalists that his party had also arrested Yan Piet at the OTT which took place on Sunday (12/11/2023).
Yan Piet was arrested on suspicion of accepting bribes, along with three Sorong Regency Government officials and two BPK inspectors representing Southwest Papua Province.
Before being arrested by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on suspicion of corruption, Yan Piet also frequently courted public controversy with his luxurious life.

Before being appointed as Acting Regent of Sorong, Yan Piet served as Head of Section at the Regional Secretariat of the West Papua Provincial Government in 2019.
Yan Piet was then given the position of Head of the Mental and Spiritual Development Section at the Regional Secretariat of the West Papua Provincial Government a year later and will continue until 2021.
Furthermore, Yan Piet will serve as Head of the West Papua Province Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Service in 2022.
Yan Piet, who wandered around the regional government, was finally appointed as Acting Regent of Sorong, replacing Johny Kamuru, as stated in the Decree of the Minister of Home Affairs dated 19 August 2022.

Public anger immediately escalated because Yan Piet pampered his daughter with luxury while the residents in Sorong still lived on the verge of poverty.
Enchi’s birthday celebration was finally responded to by the Head of the KPK Region V Corruption Prevention Task Force, Dian Patria. Dian told reporters that her party would investigate Yan Piet.
It turns out he only reported IDR 49 million to the Corruption Eradication Commission
The Corruption Eradication Commission’s suspicions grew after investigating that Yan Piet only reported his assets amounting to IDR 49.2 million.
Uniquely, Yan Piet also did not report that he had assets in the form of land and buildings. The absence of land and building assets means that Yan Piet does not have a house or deliberately did not report his house.
Yan Piet also reported that he had no assets in the form of motorized vehicles.
