JAKARTA – In the tight competition of the 2023 Japan Masters badminton tournament, which is a continuation of the BWF Asian Tour, Indonesia is ready to present 18 of its flagship representatives at the Kumamoto Prefectural Gymnasium, Japan, starting tomorrow, Tuesday (14/11/2023).
The best Indonesian badminton players are determined to impress in the BWF Super 500 competition, in order to fight for a place in the next round and the dream of standing on the highest podium, challenging the greatness of the world’s best badminton players in the land of the rising sun.
Red and White representatives will compete not only for a prize of 420 thousand US dollars, but also for ranking points towards the 2024 Paris Olympics and the World Tour Finals. Many of the main players, who had previously rested after the 2023 French Open, will return to competition. Some of the Red and White Contingent players have missed the Hylo Open and Korea Masters.
This time, it is hoped that their energy will be full again ahead of the 2023 Japan Masters. From the men’s singles event, there will be 4 Indonesian players playing, namely Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, Jonatan Christie, Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo, and Shesar Hiren Rhustavito. Of the three, only Vito started from the qualifying round.
From the women’s singles, the 3 players who are defending Indonesia at the 2023 Korea Masters are still planning to continue their action in Kumamoto, Japan. They are Putri Kusuma Wardani, Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo, and Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi. Indonesia’s strength increased by one because Gregoria Mariska Tunjung also participated. From women’s doubles, there were 2 Indonesian representatives participating, namely Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti and Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi. Finally, there were 3 Indonesian representatives in the mixed doubles number, namely Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari, Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati, and Adnan Maulana/Nita Violina Marwah.
