Suara.com – The Electrum H5 is claimed to be suitable for Indonesian users and the environment thanks to the touch of local engineers who are the brains behind the latest electric motorbike.
As previously reported, Electrum, the electric motorbike brand made by GoTo and TBS Energi Utama, launched the Electrum H5 electric motorbike on Thursday (9/11/2023).
“Motorcycles have become part of Indonesian people’s lives. Therefore, this motorbike is designed to meet the needs of Indonesian people,” said Electrum Product Designer Rayhan Arifinsyah at a press conference in Newsdelivers.com.
Rayhan continues the development of the Electrum H5 involving Gojek drivers, so that they can get relevant input in building an electric motorbike that is suitable for Indonesian people and the environment.
One of the superior features of the Electrum H5, which was developed from research with Gojek, is a large luggage space of up to 25 liters. This luggage can fit one helmet and two batteries.
Apart from that, there are also two charger ports on the front of the motorbike, which can be used to charge cellphone batteries. The space at the front of the motorbike is also quite spacious, so it can be used to store items, including refillable water gallons.
Not only that, the Electrum H5 is also designed with a side mounted motor, near the rear wheels. With this design, explained Electrum Mechanical Engineer Yuditya Pratamaputra, the motorbike will not flinch on the first pull – something that is commonly experienced in many electric motorbikes on the market today.
“In terms of power delivery, this motorbike doesn’t feel jerky, but is quite smooth and capable of high acceleration,” explained Yuditya.
The Electrum H5 battery has a capacity of 1.8 kWh. With two fully charged batteries, the electric motorbike can cover a distance of 120 km or 60 km if only using one battery.
Electrum H5 is available in two types, namely Performance and Eco. The Performance type is driven by a 5.4 kW motor, which is equivalent to 7 HP at 3000 rpm and 30 Nm of torque at 1600 rpm. This motorbike can also accelerate to 60 km/h in just 6 seconds and has a maximum speed of 90 km/h.
The Eco type, which is only equipped with one battery, is driven by a 2.6 kW motor or around 3.5 HP at an engine speed of 3,000 rpm and 27 Nm of torque at 1,600 rpm.
The Electrum H5 battery is also very compact and weighs less than 10 kg per unit. The battery has a battery management system (BMS) and IoT, which means it has a number of smart sensors and can be used to collect data about the condition of the battery itself.
Unfortunately the Electrum H5 is not yet available for sale to the public. The plan is that Electrum will rent out the new electric motorbikes to Gojek drivers. A total of 500 units will be paved by the end of 2023.
