Indonesian U-17 National Team captain Iqbal Gwijangge asked for support from supporters ahead of the first match at the 2023 U-17 World Cup. According to the schedule, the U-17 National Team will face Ecuador at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (GBT), Surabaya, Friday (10/11/2023) .
Iqbal Gwijangge asked supporters to fill the stadium. According to him, support from supporters can make the opponents nervous that the U-17 Indonesian National Team will face.
“Because we are playing on our own ground, I hope all (supporters) can be fully present at the stadium because it will make the opponents nervous because of the roar of the stadium,” he said, quoted from the PSSI website, Tuesday (7/11).
Joined in Group A, the Bima Sakti troops will face Ecuador, Panama and Morocco. Iqbal Gwijangge believes the presence of home fans can be a pressure on opponents
“Maybe (the supporters) will have an effect because the match will run with high intensity,” explained Iqbal Gwijangge.
“So I ask for prayers and support from all Indonesian people, (both) those present at the stadium or those watching at home,” he continued.
For this championship, the U-17 Indonesian National Team was strengthened by local players and two diaspora players from abroad. Appearing for the first time as host, it will be interesting to look forward to the actions of Iqbal Gwijangge and his friends.
