CUPERTINO – YouTube Premium offenders around the world are starting to get email notifications that they will be charged an additional monthly fee. This price increase applies to YouTube Premium and Music Premium.
As reported by various sources, Friday (3/11/2023), this has been in effect since November 1 in Austria, Chile, Australia, Argentina, Germany, Turkey and Poland. Other countries will follow as soon as possible.
With this, enjoying content on YouTube without ads becomes a little more expensive. However, existing customers will get the previous fee bonus for at least three additional months before finally being charged an additional fee.
According to the notification email, the price increase will continue to increase Premium and support content creators on the platform. Apart from that the company also offers audio-only playback mode, background playback, and offline downloading options.
YouTube also offers a 1080p option which provides better bitrates. This increased bitrate option is claimed by the company to have less compression, resulting in better visuals.
