A Francis Ngannou-style Superman bogeman in the final round during his controversial loss to Tyson Fury left fans flabbergasted. Francis Ngannou attempted an incredible Superman punch in the final round of his controversial loss to Tyson Fury.
Francis Ngannou accepted the defeat even though many believed Tyson Fury had not done enough to warrant a decision. Francis Ngannou, 37, shocked the world by knocking out WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury in the third round of his professional boxing debut.
Fury recovered to beat the count, before the fight went the full 10 rounds and The Gypsy King claimed a highly controversial split-decision victory. But in the final minutes of the fight, Ngannou tried something that caught everyone’s attention.
The former UFC heavyweight champion jumped up and attempted what was widely described as a “superman punch” – a move commonly seen in MMA. This involves throwing both feet off the canvas and attempting to land a big blow to the head.
Ngannou tried to set him up with a jab, but Fury was able to easily avoid the flying punches. But despite failing to connect, fans loved the Cameroonian for trying.
One said: “Ngannou trying the Superman punch was wild.”
Another added: ‘The fact he threw a Superman punch made him win the round purely for being a rhino.’
A third replied: “Dude you released ‘The superman punch’, this is crazy!!!”‘
While a fourth replied: ‘Francis Ngannou, that superman punch was AMAZING.’
Many believe Ngannou did enough to clinch a win in Saudi Arabia on Saturday night. But the former UFC man has no regrets about the controversial decision as he generously claimed he had “made a mistake”.
