Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto’s position in the BWF ranking is in freefall. This result became known after he failed to secure the title at the 2023 Denmark Open tournament.
From the BWF ranking update, Tuesday (24/10/2023), it is known that Fajar/Rian are in fourth place after stopping in the semifinals of the Denmark Open 2023 after being defeated by Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri in two straight games 13-21, 17-21 .
This negative result made Fajar/Rian’s position drop to fourth. They were cornered by Aaron/Soh and also Liang Wei Keng/Wang Chang (China).
Meanwhile, Bagas/Fikri rose two positions to 12th place with a total of 66,090 points. They overtook another Indonesian pair, Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin, who dropped one position to 13th place.
In the men’s singles sector, Jonatan Christie rose one position to sixth. Not appearing at the Denmark Open 2023, Indonesian women’s doubles, Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, must be willing to drop their position in the BWF rankings by one position.
Now, they are ranked eighth behind Zhang Shu Xian/Zheng Yu (China). Meanwhile, the other women’s doubles, Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi, actually experienced an increase in position. They rose one position to 17th.
In the mixed doubles sector, the top three pairs from Indonesia rose one position together. They are Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari (15th position), Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati (16th), and Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja (19th).
