JAKARTA – Apple is predicted to launch the latest iMac computer. This is after technology analyst Mark Gurman said that there would be many improvements presented at the launch event on October 30 2023.
In the leak, Gurman said that it looks like the new 24-inch iMac will be launched with an M3 processor. According to him, currently Apple is busy preparing for its launch event.
Gurman added that several models will be released later. Not only the iMac, but also the 13-inch MacBook Pro, as well as other high-end Pro models. Consumers will get the device in November 2023, as reported by The Verge, Monday (23/10).
Apple itself postponed announcements regarding its earnings this quarter after October. According to Gurman, the 14- and 16-inch Pro laptops were updated in January, so they may still be on track for a 2024 release. However, it’s been more than a year since the 13-inch MacBook Pro was updated, while the iMac is entering its third year with the same chip.
Gurman also responded to a netizen’s tweet asking if he thought the next MacBook would see changes beyond internal upgrades.
He said he doesn’t expect any significant differences apart from the processor and minor improvements to the display.
Gurman predicts the next real change will come with a new iMac Pro in 2025, then an OLED MacBook Pro in 2026, which will likely come with an updated design and features.
According to Apple’s financial report for the third fiscal quarter 2023, Apple’s revenue from MacBooks and iMacs was USD 12.3 billion, or about 10.3% of Apple’s total revenue in the quarter. This revenue increased 13% from the same period last year.
Here is a breakdown of Apple’s revenue from MacBooks and iMacs in the third fiscal quarter of 2023:
MacBook: USD7.4 billion
iMac: USD4.9 billion
MacBook and iMac are two portable computer products from Apple. MacBook is a laptop based on macOS, while iMac is a laptop based on macOS that has a unified screen.
