Did you know that the Prophet SAW advised his people to give a name to a new born child during aqiqah? Giving a name to a child should also not be arbitrary, because there are four names that the Messenger of Allah forbade to be given to a child.
Reported by detikHikmah, Saturday (21/10/2023), four names that are forbidden to be given to children are related to the means of divination. In the book Fiqh Sunnah by Sayyid Sabiq, as for the names that the Prophet SAW forbade to be given to babies are Yasār, Rabāh, Najīh, or Aflah.
In Indonesian, Yasār means convenience, Rabāh means profit, Najīh means the person who succeeds, and Aflah means the person who wins the most.

This prohibition of the Prophet SAW is mentioned in a hadith originating from Samurah RA. He said that the Prophet SAW said,
Do not call your boy “left-handed,” “profitable,” “loanly,” or “prosperous,” for you will say, “He is sinful,” but he is not, and he will say, “No.”
Meaning: “Do not name your child Yasār, Rabāh, Najīh, or Aflah. Indeed, you will say, ‘Is he there?’ And he wasn’t there until someone answered, ‘No’.” (HR Muslim in Sahih Muslim, book al-Adab, chapter Karahati at-Tasmiyah bi al-Asma’ al-Qabihah).
The translator of the book of Sunnah Fiqh explains that the meaning of this hadith is that the names can be used to predict. Suppose someone asks, “Is there Yasār (ease) there?” If the answer is that there is no Yasār then he predicts that there will be no ease there.
