Suara.com – BUMN Minister Erick Thohir is said to have received high electoral benefits thanks to his close relationship with President Jokowi.
LSI Denny JA researcher, Adjie Alfaraby, said that Erick was one of the figures within the palace who was trusted by Jokowi.
Moreover, he has a good career track record, so it is not surprising that he has received high support. Even Erick Thohir also took part in Jokowi’s electoral impact.
“People who contribute to Pak Jokowi’s government receive electoral incentives,” said Adjie, Saturday (7/10/2023).

During his time as Minister of BUMN, Erick demonstrated brilliant achievements. BUMN revenues will increase to reach IDR 303.7 trillion in 2022. This makes BUMN dividends to the state reach IDR 80 trillion.
Not only that, Erick is also known as one of the figures who is aggressively cleaning up corruption practices. He exposed several megacorruption cases, one of which was the Jiwasraya case.
Erick Thohir’s achievements have made his relationship with Jokowi even closer. Jokowi gave trust through special tasks to Erick Thohir.
“His close relationship with Pak Jokowi was then in the public space several times for important matters, and it was Pak Erick who was entrusted to take care of it,” he said.
Talking about the opportunity to run for the 2024 presidential election, armed with a high electoral standing, it is considered capable of making Erick Thohir’s name compete with other candidates.

Based on the results of the Indonesian Political Indicators survey in East Java, Erick Thohir obtained 17.2 percent electability, beating Khofifah Indar Parawansa who received 15.1 percent and Mahfud MD 11.5 percent.
Erick Thohir is considered to have bagged the majority of votes in East Java which is dominated by the Nahdliyin.
Meanwhile, from the findings of the Institute Polling survey for the period 21-25 August 2023, Erick Thohir obtained the highest electability, reaching 24.5 percent. This vote result led him to eliminate other candidates such as Muhaimin Iskandar, Ridwan Kamil, and Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono or AHY.
