LONDON – Undefeated light heavyweight boxer from England, Joshua Buatsi, doesn’t really care about the chatter of his domestic rival, Anthony Yarde. In recent times, Yarde has repeatedly emphasized that he would knockout Buatsi if they met in the ring.
For now, Buatsi doesn’t really respond to Yarde’s chatter, because he is still focusing on the duel against his compatriot, Dan Azeez. Their fight will be the headline in the fighting contest which will take place at the O2 Arena, London, Saturday (21/10/2023) evening local time.
“He’s been saying that for years,” said Buatsi, as reported by Sky Sports. “Please write everything I said here, but especially put this in bold: I don’t care about Yarde right now. Right now, what I care about is Dan Azeez,” he explained.
On another occasion, Yarde said that he was very confident that Buatsi would beat Dan Azeez. And the winner of the duel will face him directly. When that happens, Yarde is optimistic that he can knockout Buatsi.
“I feel now is the right time. This has been mixed, all the spices have been put into the pan,” said Yarde.
“I definitely see myself winning that fight, just from what I’ve seen from him. I feel like anyone in the world, even the world champions, on that night I could beat any of them,” he said.
Buatsi also denied this. This 30 year old boxer did not rule out the possibility of the fight mentioned by Yarde. However, he wasn’t sure Yarde would be able to knock him down. According to him, it was just bullshit.
“Is he a potential opponent? Of course, if someone is in the light heavyweight division, they are a potential opponent,” said Buatsi.
“However, he boxed with an unknown geezer a few days ago, and now he’s back to his peak. Come on, guys!” said Buatsi, referring to Yarde’s victory over 40-year-old boxer Jorge Silva last September.
“I’ve said it before, he talks nonsense, and that’s all I can say about him,” he said again.
