PORTO – Barcelona only narrowly won 1-0 when facing FC Porto in the 2023/2024 Champions League group phase. Gavi’s red card colored the Blaugrana’s victory over the hosts.
Playing at the Stadio Do Dragao, Thursday (5/10/2023) early morning WIB, Barcelona appeared dominant from the start of the match. However, they were only able to break down the host’s defense through Ferran Torres’ goal in the 45+1 minute.
In the second half, Barcelona continued to try to increase their lead to 1-0. They played Fermin Lopez, Sergi Roberto and Marcos Alonso to add to their attacking power. However, until the match ended no additional goals were scored.
In fact, Barcelona had to lose one player after Gavi was given a second yellow card in the 90th minute. The 19 year old player was sent off by the English referee, Anthony Taylor, and is certain to miss the third match of the Champions League group phase.
