Persis Solo appeared persistent, aka never giving up, when they drew 2-2 against Persija Newsdelivers.com in the 14th week of BRI Liga 1 2023/2024 at Manahan Stadium, Saturday (30/9/2023) evening.
Even though they only won one point at home, this result is something to be grateful for considering that the Laskar Sambernyawa team had to play with 10 people from the end of the first half.
The hosts lost defender Jaimerson Xavier who received a second yellow card in the 42nd minute of the first half.
In that match, Persija immediately took the lead in the second minute through defender Oliver Bias’ directed kick. Continuing to try to equalize the score, Persis got the results visible in the 31st minute.

Utilizing a free kick scheme from the right side of Persija’s defense, Persis managed to equalize the position through Sutanto Tan’s header maximizing Alexis Messidoro’s pass.
Gaining momentum, Persis actually lost Jaimerson Xavier who received a second yellow card after elbowing Rayhan Hannan.
However, starting the second half with 10 Persis players, they took the lead in the 49th minute through Althaf Indie’s action using a quick counter attack.
Luckily, Persija finally managed to equalize. Riko Simanjuntak’s corner kick was headed by substitute Aji Kusuma in the 79th minute. The 2-2 score lasted until the match ended.
Persis Solo’s performance received praise from netizens. Even though they had to play with 10 players and were leading 2-1, the Laskar Sambernyawa team still appeared sportsmanlike and did not deliberately stall for time.
