MOTEGI – The national anthem Indonesia Raya was sung twice at the Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup (IATC) racing event, after the PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) coached racer, Veda Ega Pratama, succeeded in sweeping the highest podium in both races in the second round of the IATC which was held at the Circuit Twin Ring Motegi, Japan, 30 September and 1 October 2023. This proud achievement also makes history as a non-Japanese racer who has won this championship since 2017.
In the first race, Saturday (30/9/2023), Veda managed to stand proudly on the first podium. A day later, or to be precise, Sunday (1/10/2023), the racer who graduated from Astra Honda Racing School again made the song Indonesia Raya sound at ATC Motegi, after touching the first finish line after 13 laps.
Veda was able to show consistent dominance throughout the race. Approaching the finish line, Veda managed to create quite a distance from her rivals.
Veda finished the race with a time of 26:34:603. Thanks to this proud achievement, the 14 year old racer is increasingly at home in occupying first position in the temporary racer standings with a total of 95 points.
Meanwhile, other young racers, Reykat Fadillah and Chessy Meilandri, had to tolerate not being able to finish the race due to a crash in the second series of IATC Motegi.
In the standings, Reykat is in 13th position and Chessy is in 16th place. AHM General Manager Marketing Planning and Analysis Andy Wijaya said this achievement was the result of the hard work and perseverance of AHM’s racers and the entire team.
AHM’s consistent support with the spirit of One Heart for the nation’s next generation to continue fighting and trying to make Indonesia proud was able to produce positive achievements by sweeping the highest podium in the two IATC Motegi races which were held simultaneously with the world’s highest motorbike racing event, MotoGP series, Motegi, Japan.
“We are very happy to be able to once again bring Indonesian racers to present the Red and White flag at this prestigious racing event. Through this proud achievement, Indonesian racers have proven to have the competence to compete with talented racers from other countries. We will continue to support the achievements of this nation’s sons. ,” said Andy.
IATC is a prestigious racing event initiated by Dorna Sports as the organizer of world-class MotoGP racing to look for talented young racers from Asia. At each IATC racing event two races will be held before each racer finally collects accumulated points to determine the highest standings position until the end of the series. The next IATC 2023 series will be held at the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit, Indonesia on 13-15 October 2023.
