Suara Denpasar – Arema FC provides their support to the victims of the Kanjuruhan Tragedy who have turned one year old today.
Unfortunately, instead of getting soothing support, Singo Edan actually had to swallow the bitterness of criticism.
Arema FC expressed their support for the victims of the Kanjuruhan tragedy on October 1 2022 via the club’s social media account.
Launching from the club’s Twitter account, Arema FC firmly stated that they were on the side of the victims of this dark tragedy of Indonesian football.

“This prayer and struggle is for you nawak (friend). Aremania, 135 victims of the Kanjuruhan Tragedy,” wrote Singo Edan, quoted from the Twitter account @AremafcOfficial (1/10/2023).
This certainly attracts a lot of attention from Indonesian football fans. Many of them actually “nudged” Singo Edan regarding the eight Malang Arek still being detained.
Supporters who were still concerned about the Kanjuruhan tragedy immediately attacked the tweet and expressed their concerns via the comments feature on Twitter.
“Your prayers are good and not answered. But 8 Aremania were arrested because of their action demanding an investigation into the Kanjuruhan tragedy, did you just ignore it? Aren’t they fighting for a complete investigation into the terrible tragedy of October 1, 2022? Please explain, in case I’m wrong. Tabek,” wrote the account @Ddvianta24, as reported in the comments column.
Not only that, Singo Edan also had to swallow a lot of bitter comments. This club from Malang has become the target of netizens who are disappointed regarding the development of the Kanjuruhan Tragedy case.

To refresh your memory, the Kanjuruhan Tragedy was a dark incident in Indonesian football—and even in the world—which “swallowed” hundreds of lives.
At that time, 42 thousand tickets were sold out due to the enthusiasm of supporters who wanted to watch the East Java derby match between Arema FC and Persebaya Surabaya live.
However, the Kanjuruhan Stadium has a spectator capacity of not even 42 thousand, to be precise it can only accommodate around 38 thousand spectators.
In that match, Marselino Ferdinan and colleagues were able to defeat the hosts with a score of 2-3. Unexpectedly, this victory had to be paid dearly by the retainers of Bajul Ijo.
It started with a number of Aremania who took to the field, which was then followed by hundreds or even thousands of others.
The situation got out of control, and security forces were forced to fire tear gas, which unfortunately turned into a disaster. (*/Ana AP)
