HANGZHOU – The Indonesian rowing team failed to add to their medal tally for the Red and White at the 2022 Asian Games today. Chef de Mission (CdM) who is also the General Chair of the Indonesian Rowing Sports Association (PB PODSI), Basuki Hadimuljono, said that the athletes had not been lucky.
There are three final events that the Indonesian rowing team will participate in today (25/9/2023) at the Fuyang Water Sports Center, Hangzhou, China, namely Men’s Four, Women’s Quadruple Sculls and Men’s Quadruple Sculls.
However, unfortunately not a single medal could be added from the three numbers competed today. According to Basuki, the athletes were not lucky because the time difference was only small.
“Today we weren’t lucky, and the difference was only 0.2 or 2 seconds (with the bronze winner). We were chatting earlier, maybe the physical should be evaluated. If we look at China, the athlete’s height is 185 cm, 190 cm. “We need to strengthen our physical training again,” said Basuki, Monday (25/9/2023).
Furthermore, Budiman Setiawan as Secretary General of PB PODSI added that the results in these three competition numbers had not met the target.
“Our target is actually silver or bronze. “But the children are optimal, they were fine,” said Budiman.
