WASHINGTON – US News and World Report recently released a ranking of the best countries in the world based on quality of life.
To determine the ranking of the 87 countries listed, US News and World Report, WPP and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania surveyed more than 17,000 people worldwide.
The best countries in terms of quality of life are assessed based on the following metrics namely (1) Affordable, (2) Good Job Market, (3) Economically Stable, (4) Family Friendly, (5) Income Equality, (6) Economically Stable Politics, (7) Safe, (8) Well-developed Public Health System, and (9) Well-developed Public Education System.
Here are the 10 countries with the best quality of life.
1. Sweden

Sweden is the best country in the world when it comes to affordability, safety and more.
According to Numbeo, the cost of living in Sweden is on average 20.9% lower than in the United States, while rent is 57.5% lower.
Sweden is known for its health care and free college education, according to US News and World Report.
Sweden’s population has one of the longest life expectancies, with an average age of 82.8 years, according to the CIA World Factbook.
The country has an extraordinary leave policy: Parents are entitled to 480 days of paid leave when a child is born or adopted. If there are two parents, each is entitled to the 240 days.
