RIYADH – Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman is said to be “annoyed” with Israeli Prime Minister (PM) Benjamin Netanyahu.
This news was revealed by Israel’s Channel 12 TV on Tuesday (19/9/2023). This is believed to be the reason why normalization negotiations between the two have been delayed.
Citing senior Saudi officials, the report claims Riyadh will not accept normalization of relations with Israel without the creation of an independent Palestinian state.
The officials stressed, “Saudi Arabia will not sign a normalization agreement without conditions, and indicated Netanyahu is not ready to make any concessions to the Palestinians.”
According to Channel 12, Saudi officials added, “The Kingdom is not interested in talking to Israel’s extremist government at this time.”
There is no other way to resolve the conflict other than ensuring the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
Reported on Monday, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal Bin Farhan said the only way to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was through an independent Palestinian state.
“There is no way to resolve the conflict other than ensuring the establishment of an independent Palestinian state,” stressed Faisal Bin Farhan.
“People are starting to lose hope in a two-state solution. “The plan is to return to the front lines,” he said.
Channel 12 also reported Saudi officials saying a key condition for the Kingdom signing a normalization agreement with an occupying country would be to allow uranium enrichment in Saudi Arabia; creating an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel in the occupied Palestinian territories; and maintaining the status quo in Jerusalem.
Israel is reportedly “sweating” over the price of normalization with Saudi Arabia. The possibility that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has its own nuclear program, even for civilian purposes, is very worrying for the apartheid state.
