CUPERTINO – Apple just released the Apple Watch Series 9 a few days ago. However, not even a week ago the smart watch was launched, leaks have emerged about its successor, namely the Apple Watch Series 10.
The leak came from a well-known gadget analyst and journalist from Bloomberg, Mark Gurman. He provided quite a lot of information about the wearable device in the August edition of his Power On newsletter.
As reported by Mashable, Sunday (17/9/2023), Gurman said that the next generation Apple Watch will have a slightly different name from previous years.
According to Gurman and a February research note from technology analysis firm Omdia, the next generation of Apple Watches will be named with Roman numerals, like the Apple Watch X, or Series X, for example.
The Watch X will eventually have a thinner casing and possibly a major redesign. This design overhaul also concerns how the watch strap is attached to the watch face.
Instead of the traditional slide and lock mechanism, Apple is considering using a magnetic system that could potentially free up space for a larger battery or some other internal improvement.
Another big change is that Apple is reportedly replacing its traditional OLED watch displays with microLED technology. Without going deep into the technical meaning, the difference is that microLED is capable of better color display, better battery life, and better contrast.
As for new features, the only one Gurman mentioned was a blood pressure monitor. However, keep in mind that this is all just a rumor, so you still have to wait for further information.
And it will be an extraordinary wait because according to Gurman, the new Apple Watch
