The U-24 Indonesian National Team or National Team is preparing to fly to China tonight, Friday (15/9/2023) to compete in the 2022 Asian Games Cup.
Quoted from the Antara news agency, Indonesia is in Group F with North Korea, Kyrgyzstan and Taiwan. The schedule is:
* Indonesia vs Kyrgyzstan on Tuesday (19/9/2023)
* Indonesia vs Taiwan on Thursday (21/9/2023)
* Indonesia vs North Korea on Sunday (24/9/2023)
At the training camp or training center (TC), Coach Indra Sjafri stated that the U-24 Indonesian National Team underwent a fitness test.
“In the two-day TC (starting Wednesday, 13/9/2023), focus on doing fitness tests at the PSSI medical sports center. Thank God, their fitness is in good condition, almost their average VO2max (maximum amount of oxygen) is 60, some even reach 65,” explained Indra Sjafri in Field A of the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium complex, Newsdelivers.com, Friday (15/9/2023).
“This is a good thing (the player’s fitness condition), it means that our football is getting more and more advanced. I believe that competition is the place for developing players, clubs are players’ factories,” he stressed.
However, on the other hand, Indra Sjafri added that not all the players who were called up to strengthen the Indonesian national team had joined the national training. Of the total 22 players called, there are still seven players who have not joined.
“There are still players who have not joined, but we have the courage to bring this team because they are players who have been well prepared at the club,” said Indra Sjafri.
