Russian officials said Wednesday that a Ukrainian missile attack hit a shipyard in Russia-annexed Crimea.
Mikhail Razvozhayev, the Russian-appointed governor of the port city of Sevastopol, posted photos on Telegram showing fire and smoke at the site and said 24 people were injured in the attack.
The Russian Defense Ministry said Ukraine targeted the shipyard with 10 cruise missiles and three unmanned ships, and Russian air defenses destroyed seven missiles and all three ships.
The Defense Ministry also said the attack damaged two ships that were being repaired.
In the Odesa region, officials said a Russian drone strike early Wednesday damaged the port and civilian infrastructure in Izmail. Oleh Kiper, the regional governor, said via Telegram that six people were injured in the attack.
Izmail has been a frequent target of Russian attacks in recent months. The port in the city is used to export Ukrainian grain via the Danube River. (lt/ab)
