CALIFORNIA – Apple officially launched its newest cellphone series, namely the iPhone 15, at an event entitled ‘wonderlust’ which was held live at Apple Park in Cupertino, California, USA, Tuesday (13/9/2023) local time.
The iPhone 15, which consists of the regular, Pro and Pro Max models, is officially here and brings a variety of the latest technology. The three iPhone 15 models will be thinner than their predecessor models and the most prominent one is the use of USB type C.
This latest product from the Apple company brings many changes to the iPhone 15 compared to previous iPhone phones.
Starting with the iPhone 15 (regular) and iPhone 15 Plus, these models now come with a Dynamic Island display. Previously, screens with this concept were only available in the Pro and Pro Max variants in the iPhone 14 Series family.
The A16 Bionic chip, which is claimed to be fast and efficient, is here to handle the performance of this device and is said to have been proven on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, supporting Dynamic Island, computational photography capabilities, and more.
The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus also feature an industry-first tinted glass back with a textured matte finish that is claimed to be stunning, and new contoured edges on the aluminum casing. Both models have a Dynamic Island feature, and an advanced camera system designed to help users take fantastic photos of everyday moments in their lives.
A powerful 48 MP Main Camera enables super high resolution photos and a new 2x Telephoto option gives users a total of three levels of optical zoom, like having a third camera. The iPhone 15 lineup also introduces next-generation portraiture, making it easier to capture portraits with incredible detail and low-light performance.
With A16 Bionic for powerful power, proven performance, a USB‑C connector, Precision Search for Find My Friends and industry-leading durability features, iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are said to represent a major leap forward.
“iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus represent a giant leap forward with exciting camera innovations that inspire creativity, intuitive Dynamic Island, and features like Roadside Assistance via satellite that make a real difference in users’ lives,” said Kaiann Drance, vice president Apple as reported by CNET, Wednesday (13/9/2023).
The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models are among the first to use the dynamic island feature, which replaces the “notch” on previous models.
The screen size will most likely remain the same as its predecessor, namely 6.1 inches for the standard and Pro variants, and 6.7 inches for the Plus and Pro Max variants. ProMotion Display technology with 120Hz refresh rate capability will remain exclusive to the top variant.
Thinner bezels and a titanium frame are expected to enhance the appearance of the Pro and Pro Max variants. This feature will make the cellphone lighter, stronger and more premium.
The iPhone 15 Pro features a customizable Action Button, similar to the Apple Watch Ultra. Apart from that, the Dynamic Island feature will replace the notch which has been the hallmark of the iPhone.
