Marco Bezzecchi followed in second place with a time difference of 1.445 seconds from Martin, while another Ducati racer, Francesco Bagnaia, finished third with a time difference of 3.137 seconds from Bezzecchi.
The race started with Martin leading the way, controlling the other racers. Bezzecchi initially dropped to third behind Bagnaia and Dani Pedrosa. However, on the third lap, Bezzecchi started to catch up and managed to overtake Bagnaia to take second place behind Martin.
Brad Binder made a brilliant maneuver at turn 10, taking over two positions from the drivers in front of him, Luca Marini and Aleix Espargaro. Meanwhile, Vinales, who was constantly overshadowed by Binder, finally had to be willing to lose fifth place.
With two laps remaining, Jorge Martin managed to maintain his leading position and win the 2023 San Marino MotoGP sprint race. Bezzecchi and Bagnaia also remained in second and third positions to fill the podium, after a race full of action until the last lap.
