Suara.com – The DKI Newsdelivers.com Provincial Government (Pemprov) together with the police have carried out vehicle emission test tickets since September 1 2023. During the implementation of these provisions, it was found that more violators came from motorbike drivers than car drivers.
Head of the Pollution and Environmental Damage Control Division of the DKI Newsdelivers.com Environmental Service (DLH) Erni Pelita Fitratunnisa stated that this was based on monitoring results.
“So far, many people have been ticketed for two-wheelers,” said Erni at DKI Newsdelivers.com City Hall, Friday (8/9/2023).
Fitri explained that most of the violators were motorbike riders because most of them did not understand the importance of emissions tests as an effort to control the capital’s air pollution. He also admitted that he would continue to intensify outreach so that people implement this rule.

“Most of the people who get ticketed are people who are still unfamiliar with emission test information. Such as Gojek and Grab drivers. However, the LH Department continues to carry out campaigns, outreach and publications,” said Fitri.
Based on data from the Environment Agency, there are already 1 million four-wheeled vehicles in Newsdelivers.com that have had emissions tests. This figure is more than motorbikes, of which there are only 101,660 vehicles.
This number is very unequal because two-wheeled vehicles are actually more widely used in Newsdelivers.com than four-wheeled vehicles. Another factor is the small number of two-wheeled vehicle emission testing workshops.
In Newsdelivers.com, there are 107 emission test workshops for two-wheeled vehicles, while there are 333 four-wheeled vehicle workshops.
“It’s true, more two-wheeled vehicles are mobilizing in Newsdelivers.com. However, the availability of emission testing workshops for two-wheeled vehicles is still limited. This is what we are pursuing so that workshops for two-wheeled vehicle emission testing can grow,” explained Fitri.

“It’s still limited, but the Environmental Service and sub-departments in city areas still provide free emissions tests for two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles,” he said.
