Molar pregnancy, also known as hydatidiform mole, is a pregnancy that does not proceed as it should. However, how long can this molar pregnancy last? Mothers can find out the symptoms, causes and prevention.
This molar pregnancy occurs when the placenta does not develop normally. Instead, a tumor forms in the uterus and causes the placenta to become a fluid-filled sac. This is also called a cyst.
According to the Healthline page, molar pregnancy occurs in around one in every 1,000 pregnancies (0.1 percent). This pregnancy does not develop into a normal and healthy pregnancy.

Types and causes of pregnant grapes
There are two types of molar pregnancy. Neither is better or worse than the other. Both types are usually harmless and do not cause cancer.
Complete molar: This molar pregnancy occurs when only placental tissue grows in the uterus. There was no sign of a fetus at all.
Partial mole: In this pregnancy there is placental tissue and some fetal tissue. However, fetal tissue is incomplete and will never develop into a baby.
Can you control it so that molar pregnancy doesn’t happen? Actually, this molar pregnancy was not caused by anything the mother did. This molar pregnancy can occur in women of various ethnicities, ages and backgrounds.
Causes of pregnant grapes
Traci C. Johnson, MD, an obstetrician and gynecologist, said molar pregnancy occurs because of problems with the fertilized egg.
Sometimes this pregnancy occurs because of an error at the genetic level – DNA. Most women carry hundreds of thousands of eggs. Some of them may not form correctly. These egg cells are usually absorbed by the body and are not used again.
However, occasionally an imperfect (empty) egg is fertilized by sperm. It ends with genes from the father, but no genes from the mother. This can cause a molar pregnancy.
In the same way, imperfect sperm – or more than one sperm – can fertilize a good egg. This can also cause molar pregnancy.
Can a molar pregnancy last long? Molar pregnancy will not last long. This is because the placenta is usually unable to nourish or grow the baby at all. In rare cases, it can also pose a health risk to the mother.
