MOSCOW – The military strength of Russia and North Korea (North Korea) would pose a major threat to the United States (US) if the two countries formed a coalition.
The closeness between North Korea, China and Russia has recently appeared to be getting closer. Especially after high-ranking Russian and Chinese officials witnessed a display of missile troops and surveillance drones assembled by North Korea.
As if to show that Kim Jong-un wants the world to know that China, Russia and North Korea stand shoulder to shoulder to fight US and Western domination, according to The Interpreter page.
Russia itself has had long-standing relations with North Korea, precisely during the Cold War.
The country which was still called the Soviet Union had become a supporter of weapons for North Korea to face South Korea.
Currently, North Korea has developed into a country that has a terrifying military power with various nuclear weapons.
Therefore, it is interesting to see how strong this country will be if it forms a coalition with Russia to face the United States.
Military Strength of Russia and North Korea if in Coalition
Even though North Korea is not a country that has many troops and is still a poor country, their military strength certainly cannot be underestimated. Especially after Kim Jong-un showed off a number of his nuclear weapons.
Reporting from CFR, although it is still one of the poorest countries in the world, North Korea spends almost a quarter of its gross domestic product (GDP) on its military, according to US State Department estimates.
The exact size and strength of North Korea’s nuclear arsenal remains unclear. However, analysts say Pyongyang has tested nuclear weapons six times and is developing ballistic missiles capable of reaching the United States and its allies Japan and South Korea.
