The Ministry of Youth and Sports’ Inter-Village Championship (Tarkam) in Limapuluh Kota Regency was officially opened at the Limbanang Tunas Muda Field, Monday (4/9/2023). The Regent of Fifty Cities, Safaruddin Dato Bandaro Radjo expressed his appreciation for the holding of the Kemenpora tarkam championship.
“This is our part to host it together. Of course, this is an activity that we are really looking forward to attending. So that all schools can carry out this activity together,” said Safaruddin in his press statement.
Dwijayanto Sarosa Putera as Expert Staff for Central and Regional Relations at the Ministry of Youth and Sports said that this tarkam championship could produce potential athletes. Apart from that, he also hopes that this event can run smoothly.
“It is hoped that with this tarkam championship, potential athletes can be found. We also hope that this tarkam championship can run smoothly and play fairly,” added Dwijayanto.
The sports contested included athletics (156 people participated with each sub-district sending 12 representatives) as a mandatory sport, followed by volleyball (270 people participated) and badminton (52 people participated). This tarkam championship was attended by 13 sub-districts and will last until September 6 2023.
The opening of the Kemenpora tarkam championship was enlivened by a traditional dance performance followed by a march from the sub-districts participating in the tarkam championship accompanied by a marching band.
