Suara.com – President of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Ahmad Syaikhu respects the decision of the Democratic Party to choose to leave the Coalition for Change for Unity (KPP) and no longer support Anies Baswedan in the 2024 presidential election.
He made this statement in response to contemporary political developments which are increasingly dynamic.
“We also understand and respect the Democratic Party which left the Coalition for Change for Unity and withdrew its support for the candidacy of Mr Anies Rasyid Baswedan as a presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election,” said PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu in his press conference at the PKS DPP Office, South Newsdelivers.com, Saturday ( 2/9/2023).
He said that his party still hopes that the Democratic Party will remain in the coalition and continue to support Anies in 2024.

“In fact, we really hope that the Democratic Party can remain in the coalition of change for unity and nominate Anies Rasyid Baswedan as a candidate for president of the Republic of Indonesia,” he said.

Previously, the Democratic Party decided to leave the Coalition for Change for Unity (KPP) ahead of the 2024 presidential election. This was the decision of the Democratic Party High Council after holding a hearing because they felt betrayed by Anies Baswedan and the NasDem Party.
“Just now the High Council of the Democratic Party, chaired directly by the Chairman of the High Council of the Party, Mr. SBY, also attended by the deputy chairman of the MTP, namely Ketum AHY, held a meeting that had just finished and in that meeting,” said Secretary of the High Council of the Democratic Party, Andi Mallarangeng, in a press conference at Puri Cikeas. , Bogor Regency, West Java, Friday (1/9/2023).
In the MTP session, Andi emphasized that the first result was that the Democrats decided to withdraw support for Anies Baswedan as vice presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election.

“First, the Democratic Party withdrew its support for Anies Baswedan as a presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election,” said Andi.
Then secondly, he emphasized, with the withdrawal of support for Anies, the Democrats would no longer be in the Change Coalition.
“Secondly, the Democratic Party is no longer in the Coalition for Change for Unity (KPP) because there has been a denial of the agreement that was built so far,” he said.
