Suara.com – West Ham United topped the Premier League standings after winning 2-1 at Luton Town headquarters, in a match played at Kenilworth Road, Luton, local Friday or Saturday (2/9/2023) early morning WIB.
The Hammers occupy the top position with a collection of ten points, while Luton’s third defeat in the league this season forced them to sink to the bottom of the standings with zero points, according to the official Premier League page.
The top position in the standings will belong to West Ham at least until Manchester City faces Fulham on Saturday (2/9/2023).
Jarrod Bowen was the player who scored the winning goal to give West Ham their first trophy in 43 years, when the London club won the European Conference League in June.

The England international opened West Ham’s lead in the 37th minute, when his header from Lucas Paqueta’s pass failed goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski.
The visitors scored their second goal after the break, but Emerson’s goal was disallowed due to offside.
West Ham’s second goal only came in the 85th minute, when James Ward-Prowse sent a corner kick for Kurt Zouma to hit. It was Ward-Prowse’s third assist in three appearances for West Ham.
Luton failed to register a single shot on goal until the final stages of the match. However, they were finally able to score a consolation goal in the 92nd minute, when Mads Andersen headed the ball into a goal.
It was Luton’s first goal from open play this season.

West Ham actually had the potential to be awarded a penalty when Ward-Prowse’s arm hit the ball in the forbidden area, but the referee did not consider this a violation.
